Dartford go in search of a fifth straight away win on Saturday when they take on Hayes & Yeading in National League South.

Victories at Basingstoke, Whitehawk and Chelmsford before Christmas lifted Darts to within touching distance of the play-off places.

They’ve picked up more points on the road than at Princes Park, where they drew 1-1 with Margate and Chelmsford either side of New Year’s Day.

Only Maidstone of the top-seven have performed better at home than away in 2015-16.

Dartford manager Tony Burman said: "Even in the Premier League, the away record of teams winning is madness this year.

"People get behind the ball and you’ve got to break them down. The onus is on the home team to do that. Teams are coming here and doing that against us. They’re playing deep and we’ve got break that down, to open defences up.

"They’re getting bodies behind the ball, which is similar to what we do when we play away.

"We have to try to keep the tempo high so they can’t get settled. If we don’t do that, it becomes even more difficult to break them down.

"We go away, get organised, get people behind the ball and try to counter-attack.

"We’ve done it and we’ve won games and I expect the managers have been saying they haven’t opened up the Dartford defence."
