Tony Burman wants the Dartford fans to roar his side on to "superhuman" efforts in their penultimate home game of the season on Saturday.

The Darts could climb out of the relegation zone with a win over Forest Green Rovers at Princes Park but they come into the game having played against Grimsby less than 48 hours earlier.

Burman's part-time players have barely had time to rest since they beat the Mariners 1-0 and they'll need the home crowd to lift them more than ever on Saturday.

Burman said: "I hope we can get something on Saturday but’s going to be a superhuman effort for them to go and play against Forest Green, who are a big club with full-time players. Boy, do we need the crowd on Saturday.

"If you’re a supporter, come and do even more supporting if you can and get behind them because we’re going to need it on Saturday. We really are going to need it.

"We’re going to need help. There’s no room for criticism or anything like that. Let’s get on with it, move onto the next game and let’s try to get another three points."

Forest Green arrive sitting 13th in Skrill Premier and seemingly out of the play-off hunt, but they've beaten Dartford twice already this season. The Gloucestershire side won 1-0 in the reverse fixture at The New Lawn and then knocked Dartford out of the FA Trophy in a first-round replay after the sides had drawn 1-1 at Princes Park.

Burman said: "We’ve played them enough times this year and they’ve got some quality players.

"On Saturday we need to get a result but we’re up against a really good side and they’re not going to sit down, they’re going to be a major issue and a major problem to us. We’ve got to do our best to try to get something.

"Getting three points (on Thursday) has obviously made that a much better approach for the game on Saturday."

Indeed, the win over Grimsby means Dartford are once again level on points with Aldershot, one point behind Hereford - who sit just above the drop zone - and only one further back from Southport and Chester.

Burman said: "These two games (Grimsby and Forest Green), two draws only gets you two points. We’ve got three points now and it’s putting the pressure, I think, back on the guys above us. We haven’t been doing that but we’ve done it (on Thursday) and who knows what might happen?

"We’ve got a real tough game on Saturday. To get three points from these two games was probably better than two draws, even though you’re not defeated."

Elliot Bradbrook will be missing again on Saturday after Burman confirmed the captain's thigh strain meant it would keep him out for "another week or so."
