Nathan Collier has rejoined Dartford from Hampton & Richmond Borough.
Collier played for the Darts between 2012 and 2015, making 117 appearances for Tony Burman's side in what is now the National League.
He moved on to Eastbourne Borough and then headed to Hampton, playing for the Beavers as recently as Saturday.
Dartford manager Burman said: "I am delighted to welcome back Nathan to our squad.
"He has been excellent for Hampton & Richmond over the last couple of seasons and after losing Keaton Wood recently, Nathan will come in with his experience and fill that role.
"He is also a great guy to have around and he knows exactly how we work and what is expected from the squad."
Dartford are three points clear at the top of National League South after winning 1-0 at Poole on Saturday.
Danny Mills made his debut in that game having arrived on a two-month loan from Ebbsfleet on Friday.
