Dartford face their longest away day of the season so far on Saturday.

A 500-mile round-trip lies in store for Tony Burman’s men, who are up against a Chester side in buoyant mood after last weekend’s 2-0 derby success at Wrexham.

The newly-promoted Blues failed to pick up a point from their first five games in The Skrill Premier but the Darts are now likely to find confident opponents at the end of their four-hour journey.

Burman said: "Chester had a great result at the weekend and they’ll be up for it because it was their first points.

"Teams do lose games but sometimes it changes. It was a local derby and it was a great result.

"We’ll go there, do things properly and worry about what we do. If we get things right, we’ll be a difficult side to beat."

Darts will not travel on Friday night, opting instead to beat the traffic by hitting the road early on Saturday.

"You can look at it two ways," Burman said. "The players get up for work early, so they’re used to getting up.

"Players have been offered that we stay overnight but the consensus was that we didn’t want to do it."
