Andy Pugh was Dartford's hero as they gave their survival hopes a massive boost with a 3-2 win at AFC Telford - but the striker ended the game with a red card.

Telford had the better of the early exchanges, putting pressure on Dartford keeper Jason Brown's goal, but it was the away side that took the lead on 24 minutes against the run of play.

Pugh was the scorer, converting the ball after it pin-balled around the Telford area.

However, the lead only lasted six minutes when the home side scored from the spot through Tony Gray after Elliot Bradbrook fouled Sam Smith.

Telford continued to dominate with Dartford looking to hit on the counter-attack, and only an excellent save from Brown just before the break kept the scores level after a fine strike from Neill Byrne.

The home side continued to pressure at the start of the second half before, on the hour mark, the game turned in Darts' favour when Godfrey Poku saw red for the hosts.

And Dartford made the most of their numerical advantage when Pugh fired in their second with 11 minutes remaining.

The lead only lasted a minute this time, though, as the home side levelled through Gray, firing home the rebound after Brown could only parry Michael Grogan's header.

However, there was to be late drama when Telford's Danny Ventre put through his own net in the final minute to gift Dartford the three points, before Pugh saw red, picking up a second yellow card for time wasting.

The results leaves Dartford in the relegation places, but are now just five points from safety.
