Tony Burman and Liam Daish go head-to-head once again this weekend when the Dartford manager takes his side to face fellow strugglers Nuneaton.

Former Ebbsfleet boss Daish was unveiled as Boro’s new manager this week, more than a year after he left Stonebridge Road by mutual consent.

He’s faced the Darts in north Kent derbies in recent years and Burman knows the Nuneaton players will be fired up to impress Daish on his first matchday.

Burman said: "I’m not sure it’s going to be Liam’s team at this moment in time but they’ll have the adrenaline running and we’ve got to guard against that. We’ve got to prepare right, as if this was a normal game for us.

"From a personal point of view, it’s good to see Liam back in football, in a manager’s job. He did fantastically well at Ebbsfleet and I know he works his socks off.

"He’s come back in and he’s still a young man at 46. He’s got so much to offer as a manager, which has been proved. However, we need to get on with what we do.

"Nuneaton are another part-time side, like us and a lot of the time that’s where you hope points are going to come from."

Nuneaton is the first of two crucial games Dartford face in the next few days. They make the short trip to Welling on Tuesday night for a local derby both clubs will be desperate to win.

Burman said: "Every game’s a big game for us in this league. With another game on Tuesday, it doesn’t stop, it just keeps going.

"It’s two games against teams who are part-time. Nuneaton and Welling will be looking to get points from us, just like we’re looking to gets points from them."

Lee Noble has damaged ankle ligaments and will definitely miss the Nuneaton trip, which could also come to soon for Andy Pugh. However, the former Wings striker is likely to have recovered from an Achilles problem in time to play some part against his old club on Tuesday.
