Sanchez Ming made the switch from Welling to Dartford for extra security.

The right-back was at Welling on a non-contract basis so was happy to sign a deal with Dartford under Steve King, who he played for last season.

“I played for Kingy before,” said Ming. “They put in a seven-dayer in for me so I spoke to him and decided to make the move.

“I didn’t have much security over at Welling and I’ve signed a contract with Dartford now.

“It was difficult to make the move but I had to think about my family first. I sought some advice and decided to make the switch.”

Ming revealed that he had agreed to join Welling in the summer when he thought King was going to be the manager.

But he ended up still joining the club anyway under Mark Goldberg.

“Welling made a lot of sense in the summer,” he said. “I’d made a decision to go to Welling anyway with Kingy thinking that he was going to be there.

“It was a win-win when the new gaffer then asked me to stay.”

Ming makes a swift return to Park View Road on Boxing Day when the two teams meet in a National League South derby.

“It will be interesting but I like to think I left the club on decent terms,” said Ming.

“I’ve always had respect for the club and the fans so I don’t think they wouldn’t treat me any other way than a decent way.

“Moving from Dulwich to Welling was a rivalry in its own right.

“I stay local to where I live so I’m always going to have a rivalry to whatever team I play for next.”
