Dartford FC joint-boss Adam Flanagan on the visit of Hampton & Richmond Borough

00:00, 21 March 2019

Dartford’s play-off fate is in their own hands with just seven games to go.

Jamie Coyle and Adam Flanagan’s side are sixth in National League South with all of their remaining fixtures against teams below them.

Three of the next four are at Princes Park, with back-to-back home games next up for the Darts.

On Saturday they entertain a Hampton & Richmond side still not safe from relegation and a week later they host Truro, who are just four points above the drop zone.

Joint-boss Flanagan said: “Our home games are important and the next two, on paper, are favourable but they’re teams who are fighting to stay in the division.

“I know Gary McCann at Hampton. He’s a very determined manager and he’ll want to be doing better than they’ve done.

“They’ve had two wins out of 15 and that won’t bode well for him so he’ll want improvement. He’ll bring a team that’s motivated and determined to turn that around.

“Truro beat us deservedly down there earlier in the season and we owe them one. It’s very much in our hands but we need to bounce back after Saturday as quickly as possible.”

Lee Noble returns for Dartford but fellow midfielder Elliot Bradrook completes his two-match ban this weekend.

Flanagan, meanwhile, knows they’ve got a run-in most of the top sides will envy.

He said: “I look at the run of games we had in February and some of the teams in and around us have got that kind of run-in now where a lot of them play each other.

“Woking play Bath and Torquay play Chelmsford but we’ll just go about our business and make sure we’re performing the way we expect.

“What will be, will be but we’re optimistic that Saturday (a 2-0 defeat at Torquay) was a blip against a good team.

“We left there thinking we didn’t really showcase ourselves in our best light and on Saturday at home, where our home record’s been good, we need to get back to winning ways.

“If we do that, we’ll have six games to go and we’ll be well-placed.

“We’ve been strong at home this year and we must continue that.”

It’s just one win in nine for Hampton, who have failed to score in four of their last six matches.

Dartford, meanwhile, are on an eight-match unbeaten run at home stretching back to early December.

They’ve won six of their last seven games at Princes Park and haven’t conceded a goal there for almost two months.
