Dartford unlikely to be restored to Conference Premier despite financial problems at Hereford United and Macclesfield Town

Chairman Dave Skinner isn’t expecting Dartford to be handed a relegation reprieve at the Football Conference annual meeting on Saturday.

Reports last weekend suggested that Hereford United and Macclesfield Town’s financial problems could see both clubs thrown out of the Conference for 2014-15.

Were that to happen, Dartford and Chester – the side who finished in the final relegation place – would make an instant return to the Premier Division.

But Mr Skinner said: "Hereford might be in trouble but, as usual, somebody will appear at the last second, so I’m not expecting too much.

"It probably would cause a lot of complications (if we were reprieved) - but it’s Premier football.

"It’s the same as when we won the Conference South play-off final. A lot of people said we weren’t ready (to go up) and we probably weren’t but if it’s there, you have to take it and then work around any problems."
