Dartford manager Tony Burman talks up title chances in National League South

Dartford boss Tony Burman saw his side lose ground in the title race this week – but insisted they can still do it.
Rivals Ebbsfleet and Maidenhead took advantage of a rare Darts defeat last weekend to leave Burman’s men seven points off top spot. But he knows there is still plenty to play for.
“I think we can win it – why not?” said Burman. “There’s still 13 games to go and anything can happen.
“Our plan was to get into the play-offs but now we’ve got a shout of getting into first place.
“We’ve got players who have won leagues and some who haven’t.
“I’m happy where we are. There’s no expectation that we’ve got to win the league but if you get yourself into a decent position, which we have, then we’ve got to try and keep up and win games.
“The expectation down the road (at Ebbsfleet) is a different type of expectation.
“It’s something that must happen, where we want it to happen but it’s not the be all and end all."
Darts visit Oxford City on Saturday, hoping to have Duane Ofori-Acheampong and Lee Noble back from injury.
Burman added: “I thought I would have people back for the Chelmsford game. We’ve got another week and hopefully we’ll have one, if not two, back.
“We’ve been short on numbers for the last month but we’ve won the games.
“To be fair to the players, if the season goes the way it has been when we’ve had a knockback, they’ve come back and got a result.”
