Dartford have bolstered their squad by signing two players on loan from Skrill Premier rivals Cambridge United.

Former Gillingham striker Andy Pugh has joined the Darts for a month, having been loaned to their north Kent rivals Ebbsfleet United earlier this season.

Pugh's short spell with the Fleet was disrupted by injuries, though, the 24-year-old completing 90 minutes only once during his two months at Stonebridge Road.

Having injured his ankle in only his second game for Ebbsfleet, Pugh returned to score in their 4-0 win over Concord on November 2. But he suffered a freak accident at Cambridge's training ground, hitting his wrist on a piece of gym equipment, and had to cut his loan spell short.

Pugh is set to make his Darts debut against another of his former clubs, Welling United, who Tony Burman's side face in a rearranged local derby on Friday night.

Also heading to Princes Park is Cambridge defender Rory McAuley.

The 24-year-old is in his sixth season with the U's, although a serious ankle injury sustained in August has limited him to only two league appearances for Richard Money's side this term.

McAuley has just completed a successful loan spell with Skrill South side Chelmsford City.

He is set to feature against Welling for the second time this season, having played for Cambridge in the 2-2 draw at Park View Road on August 14.

U's director of football Jez George said: "It is a good arrangement for all three parties. Rory can continue to play games but now at our level and Andy needs games after breaking a bone in his hand.

"It’s an ideal move and perfect timing as Dartford have a tough month of fixtures, with seven games in 28 days."

Both players will be ineligible when Darts entertain Cambridge on January 25.
