Keeper Deren Ibrahim wants a new deal at Dartford – so he can put right the wrongs of their play-off heartache.

The Darts were knocked out of the National League South play-offs by Chelmsford on Sunday.

But Ibrahim, who is out of contract this summer, wants to be part of the Dartford team who go one better next season.

"I want to be in the team to make us go back to the National League, and one day to get us into the Football League," said Ibrahim.

"I’ll sit down with Tony (Burman, Dartford manager), we’ve got our meetings and we’ll see what’s best for me and what’s best for the club.

"If someone said I’ll be at Dartford until the day I retire then I’d be happy with that. My family come to all the games, I work with the club and see people day in, day out, who work so hard for the club.

"But if Tony doesn’t want me then I won’t have sour grapes, I just want to play football. It’s a short career, I want to make the best out of it and do that with Dartford."

Ibrahim will need to get the play-off defeat out of his mind pretty quickly as he is on international duty with Gilbraltar at the end of this month.

But he is already keen to use the Chelmsford loss as motivation next season.

"You won’t ever forget it," he stressed. "If you do then that’s not right.

"That hurt what I witnessed out there, it will hurt for a while and will be with me throughout my career.

"To see Chelmsford celebrate yet again on our pitch in a massive game will be with me and hopefully spur us on for next year."
