Dartford boss Steve King has been given the green light to boost his injury-hit squad.

The Darts lost Ky Marsh-Brown to a hamstring injury and Andy Pugh broke his hand in three places at training last Thursday.

King handed on-loan Colchester midfielder Tyrique Hyde – son of former Watford midfielder Micah – his debut at Dulwich last Saturday, and more players should be on their way soon.

“We’re still in the market, I’m trying to get a couple in,” said King, who has never known a situation like this.

“The board have been brilliant with me. They’ve said go and get some players because we understand the situation. We’re backing you and that’s all you can ask for.

“At some point we’ll even that all out and that’s what you have to do.

“It’s the worse run of injuries I’ve ever experienced. Every time you think you’re getting someone back, another one drops out. And they’re big injuries to big players.”

Darts rushed back Jordan Wynter from injury to feature in the centre of midfield at Dulwich while Billy Crook also returned. Norman Wabo was on the bench along with Sam Blackman, who has yet to feature after being injured in pre-season.

“We needed Jordan and I thought he was excellent,” said King. “I saw him play in there once before, in the FA Cup tie at Horsham.

"When you’ve got legs and are good on the ball and understand the game then it’s a big difference. He was a big plus for us.”

King has been pleased by the attitude of those coming back from the treatment table as they fit alongside his new signings and established members of the squad.

“Players coming in who have been injured are having a good go,” said King.

“They are being brave. You’ve got to be brave on the ball. If you’ve got footballing ability, you’ve got to get on the ball.

“Don’t not get on the ball because what are you going to offer? I’m asking you to get on the ball.

“I’ve said to the players that fans will accept that. If you don’t win and they see you really having a go they’ll accept that.

“It’s important for me to see the fans accepting that because they can see what we’re trying to do here.

“We need to game manage a little bit better. There were times when we had both full-backs going and left ourselves two versus two a lot – I don’t like that.

"It's just game management that I want players to understand because I’m losing my voice on the side!”

Dartford host Billericay at Princes Park on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
