Ronnie Vint will be recalled by Dartford over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The centre-half has found himself out of the team since the arrival of Josh Hill in the summer.

But with Darts having shipped 13 goals in their five games so far, taking just two points in the process, Vint is set to start against Braintree on Saturday.

"Ronnie’s been patient," said joint-manager Adam Flanagan. "He understands that Josh came in and Josh is experienced and played well.

"I’m not saying the goals we’ve conceded are solely down to the defence because it’s a collective but Ron’s been very patient.

"His attitude’s been great and he deserves an opportunity in the team now. He’ll be back in the team and hopefully his time on the sideline has made him hungry and motivated to want to come in and do really well.

"With Ronnie, two years ago he was having clubs ring up wanting to know if he could go into the League but somewhere along the way, he’s become a little bit comfortable and we wanted to challenge him this year to get back to the levels he’s shown. In his application and everything he’s done, he’s shown that.

"While it’s not been good for him to not be in the team, hopefully it’s made him hungrier than ever and pulled him out of his comfort zone a little bit.

"If it’s done that, we’ve got a terrific player on our hands."

Dartford have the option to play three at the back but it's likely to be a straight swap with Hill or Tom Bonner making way for Vint.

Flanagan said: "Playing a three might be difficult because you’re looking at wing-backs and we’ve not got Jordan Wynter (suspended) for three games so that might impact on that.

"It is something we might consider looking at but going into the games we’ve got coming up, you wouldn’t want to make huge formation changes. We’d rather stick to the formations we’ve played this year, which would be 4-4-2 or 4-3-3.

"We want Ron to come in and do well so to come into the team having waited patiently and then try to move formation, it might not play to his strengths.

"He wants to come into a formation he’s familiar with, to be able to replicate and produce the best performance for him."
