Dartford boss Tony Burman praised the performance of midfielder Alex Brown after their comfortable home win over Weston on Saturday.
Brown's seventh-minute opener settled any title-chasing nerves for second-placed Darts and set them on the way to a sixth win in seven matches.
Burman said: "I thought Browny was excellent last week against Hampton and he was excellent on Saturday.
"He is an unsung hero, he doesn't get mentioned a lot, but he did ever so well.
"It was a cracking strike, he comes up with the odd goal but his overall game was good."
Weston kept the ball well without ever threatening the Dartford goal.
That meant a lot of chasing back for Dartford, including their three-man attack, but Burman was pleased with how they applied themselves defensively.
"We played against a team who play a lot of football," he said.
"They try to keep possession of the ball for long times, and they do it quite well. When you're trying to chase to get it back, it's hard work.
"We got two goals before half-time and I thought we should have been further ahead if I'm honest. We had another couple of chances where a bit of composure may have increased the lead.
"We felt that we had to press them high up the field and we wanted to close them down. We forced them into some mistakes.
" We knew that the full-backs get forward early but I wanted to keep the pressure on with our three up front, but they were going (tracking back) to unknown territory.
"It becomes a bit of hard work but I'm pleased with what we've done.
"When you haven't got a lot of the ball, you're working really hard but we did that. It's frustrating but you've got to be patient to win the ball back."
