Dartford 1 Boreham Wood 1 FA Trophy match report
16:54, 16 December 2017
Dartford earned a midweek FA Trophy first round replay after matching National League Boreham Wood on Saturday.
The Darts had to play the final 21 minutes with 10 men after Alex Brown was sent-off for two yellow cards.
Wood went ahead in the second half through Ricky Shakes but Tom Murphy levelled matters for the hosts.
Darts boss Tony Burman made three changes from the team that lost in National League South last Saturday. Danny Harris, Tom Bonner and Ryan Hayes all started, with Richard Sho-Silva, Lyle Della-Verde and Andy Pugh dropping out.
Although Wood dominated the early exchanges it was Dartford that created the better openings. Hayes' right-wing cross was flicked weakly towards goal by Murphy before keeper Grant Smith beat away Lee Noble's long-range attempt.
Wood's best chance saw Kane Smith shoot over the bar from the edge of the box.
Referee Lloyd Wood was typically card-happy, showing three yellows to the visitors in the first half - Angelo Balanta, Bruno Andrade and Shaun Jeffers the offenders.
As in the first half, Wood dominated early possession after the break - but this time they got a goal to show for it.
Jamie Turley's cross from the right sucked everyone in, leaving substitute Shakes at the far post to fire into the roof of the net in the 56th minute.
Dartford were back on level terms 11 minutes later. Murphy ran at his man and when he got to the edge of the penalty area his low right-foot shot beat keeper Grant Smith at his near post.
Dartford's joy was dented two minutes later when Brown picked up his second yellow card for a foul - just six minutes after his first - and referee Wood redcued the Darts to 10 men.
A rare error by Noble with four minutes left let in Andrade but keeper Deren Ibrahim was equal to his low shot from the edge of the area.
