Dartford are looking to drag Aldershot back into the Vanarama Conference relegation dogfight this weekend.

Tony Burman’s side, who haven’t played for almost a fortnight, are six points from safety and 12 adrift of the Shots, who won 3-2 at Alfreton last weekend.

But they have two games in hand over the Hampshire side, who only made themselves safe in the final week of last season.

Burman said: "They had a good result last Saturday against Alfreton so that will probably give them a lift. But we’re in good spirits and hopefully it’ll be a decent game.

"There are a few teams still in that mini-league. It depends whether the bottom four start winning because that will put pressure on the teams above. It can still happen.

"It’s good to get a win under your belt but if you follow it up with a loss, it can put you back down in the same situation.

"There’s still a little group there under 40 points and anything can happen in the next 14 games."

Dartford’s last two fixtures – at home to Gateshead and away to Alfreton –were called off because of waterlogged pitches.

The squad trained on Saturday but Burman hasn’t seen his players since.

He said: "It’s given them a rest (by not playing) and sometimes that can be OK but it disrupts you again with the work commitments and things like that.

"It was nice on Saturday to get everybody in. We were able to do a bit more because we had time on our side and we weren’t rushing about.

"We weren’t in on Monday night because of the game (on Tuesday) and when that’s called off, I don’t see them until Thursday. But we need to keep the momentum going and move on."
