Dartford's Alex Woodyard is starting to silence his Princes Park boo-boys.

The former Southend midfielder has taken some stick from the terraces in recent weeks despite solid performances on the right wing.

But when Woodyard was substituted against Aldershot on Tuesday, he deservedly went off to cheers and applause from the home crowd.

He said: "It was nice when everyone gave me a clap and were chanting my name.

"Every fan’s entitled to their opinion. To be fair, I think most of the fans like me. It’s only a minority (who don’t).

"When the whole team’s playing well, it’s a lot easier to play well. Everyone wants the ball and everyone’s working hard for each other. If someone misses the ball, someone else is covering."

Conceding a late goal on Tuesday meant Dartford had to settle for a 1-1 draw against 10-man Aldershot Town.

"It was disappointing," admitted Woodyard. "Those two points (dropped) felt like a loss. But a couple of months ago, we would have taken that, so it shows how far we’ve come."
