The third and final leg in our division of the BAGS/SIS Track Championship was held on Monday at Romford when the hosts took on Crayford and Sittingbourne in 10 races.

While Romford were favourites to win the league and make the national final, they failed to win a race.

The cumulative scores across all three legs resulted in a win for Sittingbourne, with Crayford in second.

Crayford took five races at Romford – Windmill Boy, Lucozade Danni, Dash On Black, Dionysian Doll and Clongeel Bud the winners.

The undoubted star of our team has been Dash On Black, trained by Barry O’Sullivan.

The dog has been at the peak of her form over the last two months, winning six of her last eight starts.

Two of these were here and at Romford in the Track Championship, her other two finish positions were second and third during this period.

She will return to the track with her reputation enhanced.

We could have a rising star in Dionysian Doll, who has only had six career races but won at Romford at odds of 7-2.

The greyhound must have been fancied, given the price but her win looked unlikely based on her five previous races at Crayford which saw her win in grades A5 and A4 before finishing last in grade A3 – all over 380m.

To go from that to winning against the class of dogs in the Track Championship is no mean feat, so expect a big run from her in her next A3 race at Crayford.

I am always looking for dogs that are progressive and in Cant Change It I may have a candidate.

After just five career races to date, the penny seems to have dropped having now won her last two starts.

These wins followed three indifferent runs over 540m but, take note, the dog was switched to 380m and has won both appearances.

Her latest victory came in A6 so there is plenty of scope within the grading system to win over the coming weeks.
