Dartford hit the road again on Saturday after the postponement of last weekend’s trip to Truro added to their travel congestion.

Tony Burman’s side will now head to Cornwall for the rescheduled clash on Tuesday, April 5 – one of four midweek away trips between now and the end of the season.

Darts also travel to Gosport – next Tuesday – Hayes & Yeading and Maidenhead in the next month and boss Burman admits that schedule represents a stern test for his part-time players.

He said: "We were expecting to have lots of games in January and February but some have been postponed and it’s moved to March.

"It’s always a tough time and we’ve got to get our training schedule right to make sure players get their rest.

"We’ve got a lot of games but it’s the same for everyone. Some teams in the top half have played a lot less games than us."

Eastbourne is the destination for Dartford on Saturday as they face a side seemingly destined to finish in mid-table.

Burman said: "Eastbourne have had some good results although they’re inconsistent but it will be difficult for us. They’ve got some experienced players and some young players.

"This league seems to be full of teams who are a little bit inconsistent.

"Eastbourne had a draw at home last Saturday but if we play as well as we can do, we’re going to be difficult to beat."

Tom Bradbrook is fit but Barry Cogan (hamstring) is rated 50-50 and Lee Noble (foot) is also a doubt while Lee Burns remains sidelined.
