A brilliant season for Dartford’s under-18 side was capped off perfectly on Monday when they completed the treble by lifting the John Ullmann Cup.

Dartford went into the game having already won the Kent Youth League Central Division and the Kent Cup. And the youngsters rose to the occasion once more when they took on Horsham in front of a 200-strong crowd at Corinthian’s Gay Dawn Farm ground.

Kaka Dembele fired Dartford in front at the start of the second half and that goal looked like it was going to win the cup – until Horsham equalised in the 93rd minute.

That sent the final into extra-time and Dartford re-took the lead through Brima Daramy, who fired Kieran Scantlebury’s right-wing cross into the bottom corner.

Horsham equalised for a second time but the Darts weren’t to be denied and Dembele’s corner was headed home by the unmarked Osita Isichei to spark the celebrations.

This was an incredible 23rd straight win for Dartford, who – under the management of Nick Davis and his coaching staff – have been almost unstoppable this season.
