Tony Burman pays tribute to right-hand man Paul Sawyer after duo's successful caretaker spell at Dartford ends

Tony Burman wants to see Paul Sawyer back in work as soon as possible after saying goodbye to his old sidekick.
Burman turned to his long-time assistant manager for help after taking caretaker charge at Dartford last month.
The pair won four of their six games together, signing off with a 1-0 victory away to Oxford City on Saturday.
Burman said: “He came in to help me and the club and I can’t speak highly enough of him.
“We both have the club at heart and we’ll have a little chat over the next few days and see if we might be able to work together again one day.
“He was having a break from football, like I was from the day-to-day difficulties of being a first-team manager.
“You forget a lot of the things that are enjoyable away from football – very important things, I might add – but he’s enjoyed being back involved as much as I have.
“He wanted to come in and help the club and the team, and we’re really pleased with the response we’ve got.
“I hope there’s a job somewhere for him, if not here then another club, because he’s one of the best coaches and assistant managers you can have.”
Ben Greenhalgh scored the only goal of the game at Oxford, running unchallenged through midfield and finishing smartly in the 35th minute.
Victory kept Darts 17th in National League South with three sides around them also winning.
Burman said: “Me and Paul were absolutely delighted with the result.
“With the other teams winning as well, it proved to be a valuable three points.
“I’ve got to say, the players’ attitude once again was excellent. We had some other chances but I think we just about deserved to get the points.
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the last month or five weeks or whatever it was. Not all the results were perfect but we brought some stability into the guys.
“Two of the wins were in the FA Cup, which is so important because the finances help everybody.
“We’d have liked more points but it wasn’t through lack of effort.”
