Welling boss Jamie Coyle is excited by the return to fitness of strikers Tom Bradbrook and Bradley Goldberg.

Both players returned after a month out through injury to score in the 4-0 win over Chippenham on Saturday.

"The main concern when Tom is in the team, because he is a target man, is that we go a bit more direct at time but after 10-15 minutes we got it down and started playing," said Coyle.

"We looked a constant threat out wide and got some decent balls into the box.

"Eli (Phipps) has been superb recently, he works his socks off and stretches teams. They are two completely different forwards.

"Bradley came off the bench and scored and that's nice. To now look at the bench and the quality we've got to come on, if we keep the majority of our players fit we look strong.

"It was hard to pick out individuals as collectively as a team we've really dug in and put in a performance."

Welling turned on the style late on - their final goal was a flowing move from one side of the pitch to the other before substitute Goldberg netted.

But it was defensively where centre-back Coyle was thrilled with new keeper Kleton Perntreou returning a clean sheet on his Wings debut.

"We looked better once I came off!" joked Coyle. "Some of the movement and inter-play in the final third was great to watch and we could have had three or four more at the end.

"The most pleasing thing for me was getting the clean sheet. To stay fully focused when you dominate a game like that is a massive plus."

On Perntreou, Coyle added: "He was good, great communication and his kicking was fantastic. his handling (was good). He was an asset for us.

"We will miss Dillon (Barnes) but to get someone of that quality and calibre is great for us."

The result moves Welling up to eighth place in National League South - their best position since relegation from the top flight of non-league football in 2015/16 - and just seven points behind leaders Braintree.

Coyle, however, is not getting carried away despite four straight league wins.
"It's one game at a time now, we can't get carried away," he stressed.

"The boys have been phenomenal. I know we keep looking back at the FA Cup performance and result, it's a sour taste in all of our mouths.

"It was important to be at home and put on a performance for the fans.

"You can get ahead of yourselves. If we keep doing what we're doing, keep working hard and with the quality in the squad we'll have a real chance of pushing on and seeing where we get."
