Pierre Joseph-Dubois scored twice as Welling moved off the bottom of National League South on Tuesday night.

The Wings picked up their first home win of the season with a comfortable 3-1 success over Eastbourne.

It was no more than the Wings deserved after dominating the game for long periods and creating the better chances.

Welling were almost ahead inside the first minute as Adam Coombes beat two Eastbourne defenders in the box only to fire into the side netting.

Danny Waldren then shot wide before Ali Fuseini hooked a near-post shot just beyond the upright.

Eastbourne were denied the opener when keeper Chris Lewington saved smartly to deny Elliott Romain in the 22nd minute and it proved a vital save as Welling broke down the other end and Joseph-Dubois' crisp low finish was too good for keeper Lewis Carey.

Eastbourne levelled the scores five minutes before half-time when Miguel Baptista's deep right-wing cross was headed in by the unmarked Craig McAllister.

But Welling were back infront within two minutes of the restart as Fuseini's shot from distance was parried by Carey and Joseph-Dubois was on hand to turn in the loose ball.

Welling continued to have the best of the chances with Coombes again finding the side netting, Morgan going close and Fuseini's long-range shot going just over.

The Wings were never under any great pressure and wrapped the points up in the third minute of stoppage time as substitute Dan Walker blasted in his first goal for the club.
