Four second-half goals saw Welling to a comfortable National League South win over Oxford City at Park View Road on Saturday.
The Wings failed to find the breakthrough before half-time but they had their shooting boots on after the break - with Danny Waldren scoring a stunning second goal.
Welling should have led by half-time as Adam Coombes missed a close-range header and then Harry Crawford nodded over from close range just before the interval.
Oxford City had their moments at the other end and it needed two timely tackles from Matt Fish and Sam Hatton to deny them a clear sight of goal.
While Welling's passing and tempo was below part in the opening half, they quickly got into the groove in the second half.
The opener came on 59 minutes when Coombes' cross from the right fell perfectly for Pierre Joseph-Dubois to fire home beyond keeper Craig Hill.
The lead was doubled in spectacular fashion four minutes later. Crawford's deep cross went over Waldren's shoulder but he controlled the ball with his right foot and as it came down he swivelled and brilliantly volleyed in left-footed in one motion.
It was 3-0 with 11 minutes remaining as Christian Nanetti fed the ball unselfishly into Crawford who found the net under the body of Hill.
Coombes was not to be outdone, however, and he fired in the fourth with a 20-yard free-kick seven minutes from time for his 31st goal of the season.
It could have been more as substitute Jamie Slabber nearly scored twice in the closing stage.
Welling finished with four goals but it was Oxford City that collected all of the game's bookings - five in total. The biggest surprise was that they didn't finish the game with 10 men having targeted Coombes in particular at every opportunity.
