Elliot Bradbrook insists it would have made no sense to leave Dartford this summer following their relegation to Vanarama National League South.

The 30-year-old has played 275 games for the Darts since 2009 and he needed no persuading to sign up for a seventh season at Princes Park.

There were questions over Bradbrook’s future a year ago when Dartford were relegated from the Vanarama Conference only to be reprieved. The travel commitments in that league were becoming harder to fit around Bradbrook’s job in London but this year he had only one request – show me where to sign.

Bradbrook said: "I’ve always said there’s nowhere else I wanted to be and it didn’t take much for me to sign again. All Tony (Burman) had to say was that he wanted me to stay.

"You have to do a bit of soul-searching at this time of year but I always wanted to be at Dartford. It doesn’t make sense to go anywhere else.

"People talk about fresh starts but I don’t think I need one. With the club being in a different league, this almost is a fresh start anyway.

"The team will have a different look come the start of next season and we’ve got some familiar faces around the place, too.

"We’re all mates, we want Dartford to do well and that’s enough for us."
