Dartford’s Daniel Woledge is celebrating after winning gold at the prestigious Haringey Box Cup.
The 18-year-old is already in the Great Britain development squad and he enhanced his reputation further with two excellent displays at Alexandra Palace in London.
Woledge beat Heart of Portsmouth boxer Mateusz Ziolkowski in the 75kg Youth semi-final.
After a cagey first round, Woledge hurt the Portsmouth fighter with a hook to the head and the referee gave a standing count.
Ziolkowski then took a flurry of punches and the fight was stopped just over a minute into the second round.
The Dartford man went through to a Sunday final against Irish champion Ryan Dervan and the pair served up a quality contest.
It was Woledge who always looked in control, landing plenty of scoring shots and he was awarded a unanimous points win.
With one eye on representing Team GB at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Woledge has, for now, brought the curtain down on a superb season.
