People have the chance to give their ideas for improving Dover at an exhibition with a difference at the Charlton Arts Centre this month.

Dover Now and Tomorrow displays the work of Dover photographers and artists alongside exhibits from people who are working to make a difference in the town.

It is at the arts centre, on the first floor of the Charlton Shopping Centre in High Street, from this Saturday to September 28.

Visitors can see what other people think should change in Dover and add their own ideas to a map or even write on the comments wall.

The exhibition is being hosted by the White Cliffs Creatives’ Guild who manage the gallery.

Artist Anita Luckett said: “Unlike our usual exhibitions, where work is displayed for a fixed period, this time we want Dover people to bring their own photos of places they would like to improve, or those they love and want preserved, and add them with their comments to the exhibition.

“People are also welcome to bring drawings, mood boards or models of places they would like to change.

“Working with Dover Big Local, we want to find out what people love about Dover and how they would like to spend the £1 million funding awarded by the Big Lottery for community-led projects.”

Although people are welcome to bring images and ideas at any time between 10am-4pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, two special Big Local days are being held on Saturdays September 14 and 28 from 11am-2pm when volunteers from Big Local will be at the centre to discuss people’s ideas with them and see how they could fit into the Dover Big Local plan or gain funding and suppport.
