A258 Deal to Dover Road clear following fallen tree chaos

Traffic is flowing in both directions on the A258 Deal to Dover Road, the Mercury can confirm.

A tree which had fallen as a result of last night’s high winds, which had caused the road to be closed, has now been removed.

A tree has fallen on to a white transit van down in Victoria Road in Kingsdown.

Sources say police, BT broadband and a number of tree surgeons are in attendance.

Fallen trees have also been reported on a back road between Deal and Whitfield and also in Shepherdswell.

Fallen branches on the A258 Deal to Sandwich Road caused part of the road by The Coach and Horses bar and restaurant, to be closed between 9 and 10am this morning.

Kent Highways were unable to comment due to the closure of its office.

Police are yet to comment.
