The air ambulance landed at Whitfield this morning after a car went off the road and crashed into a hedge.
It happened at the Old Park roundabout near the Kittiwake restaurant, and the helicopter landed in the restaurant car park.
Paramedics with road ambulances and the police also attended.
The driver of the car, who is thought to have been taken ill while driving around the roundabout, was released from the vehicle and flown to the William Harvey Hospital at Ashford.
