Anti-Brexit group E.U.Thinking: Deal + Dover go on BBC Inside Out
06:00, 17 September 2018
An anti-brexit group will appear on BBC South East Inside Out tonight (Monday).
The programme filmed members of E.U.Thinking: Deal + Dover in mid August where they discussed their perceived threats to the UK if a hard or no-deal Brexit happens.
They focus their concerns on those listed by police of possible security threats, the Federation of Small Businesses' forseen "chaotic" effect on business and the loss of NHS staff from EU27.
Chris Precious, a steering committee member, said: "Three of us visited local clearance experts at Western Dock in July and they continue to say a hard or no-deal Brexit will be catastrophic for our local communities.
"The UK and the EU is facing a serious emergency. Brexit should not be a political game, the people of the UK and the EU have their lives and livelihoods on the line."
The group continues to press for a people's vote and committee member Aston Mannings said "the situation in Britain has evolved so much that those who voted in the referendum over two years ago need to be consulted about whether they are getting what they wanted."
The programme will be aired at 7.30pm
