Businesses have just a few days to support Deal’s free Christmas Lights switch-on, by donating lots for a fundraising auction on Thursday.
The bidding event at Deal Angling Club 1919 is the perfect chance to pick up a bargain, while raising funds for the lights switch on next Friday, November 20.
As usual, there will be appearances by the cast of the Marlowe Theatre’s panto, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs which starts its run on Friday, November 27.
Among the lots for Thursday’s auction is the chance to be involved in the events at the lights switch on, meaning the highest bidder becomes a VIP in their own right. The opportunity has been donated by Deal Town Council with support of Councillors Eileen Rowbotham and Mike Eddy.
There is also a 5Kg Christmas turkey provided by JC Rooks Butchers, and 12 Bottles Cider donated by The Just Reproach Micro pub in King Street.
With lunches and meals promised and vouchers galore, the organisers are appealing for more lots to be donated before the auction starts.
Donations can be handed in to Zoom Photos, 70 High Street (inside Skinners Electricals), and at Millards Insurance, 12 Broad Street, Deal.
Collections can be arranged by calling Peter Davies on 01304 389847 or 07540973162.
