A launch event is planned for the new purpose-built Blossom Children's Centre at Walmer, due to officially open next month.

Owner and manager Jacquie Bramble said: "It is absolutely beautiful. It is spacious, light and airy and we are looking forward to welcoming 55 new children at the start of the school term in September."
The children's centre, in the grounds of The Downs Primary School, will offer a range of services for more than 1,000 children and their families in the Deal area.

Jenny Whittle, county council cabinet member for specialist children's services, said: "Children's centres are an important asset to their community.
"I am pleased that this one will be helping families in Deal and offers a variety of important services. If you have children, or are expecting, please get in touch with the centre and see what there is."
