Stagecoach has extended its consultation on plans to change its bus services across the district until Monday.

The operator announced its new timetable on Tuesday, June 13, with a “shorter than usual” consultation period of just 13 days.

It has given people another week to submit their views.

Sandwich Town Council raised concerns particularly for those living in surrounding villages especially children who attend Sir Roger Manwood’s and Sandwich Technology School.

A spokesman said: "Since we launched this consultation on June 13, we've been busy preparing provisional timetables based on the proposals.

"These are now available to view on our website and we will continue to welcome comments for a further week up to Monday, July 3."

He added, "We've had some constructive feedback which we're taking into consideration. "There have been a number of positive comments from people excited about the proposed new bus links such as to Buckland Hospital, increased service to Shepherdswell and increased service within Deal."
