Police are appealing for help in identifying a man who attacked a member of staff at a Dover takeaway.

CCTV images of the incident have been released in the hope that the offender can be identified.

The assault took place at 11.15pm on Sunday October 4 at The Happy Fryer in Park Place, Dover, opposite the police station.

A man wearing a scarf to conceal his face, entered the shop carrying an object in a sock and swung it at a member of staff behind the counter hitting him on the back of the head which caused bruising and injury.

The offender is described as a white man aged in his mid 20s, about five feet nine inches tall, with short, dark brown hair. He had a long tattoo on his right arm.
