Detectives have released a CCTV image after a spate of pub burglaries in the Dover district.
Five reported break-ins between last Tuesday, March 7 and yesterday are being linked.
Specific venues have not been released but a police spokesman said it includes Dover, Sandwich and rural areas.
The pub incidents are in addition to the theft of cash from St Peter’s Church in Sandwich and a burglary at a fish and chip shop in Whitfield.
Officers are reminding publicans to consider their security measures by emptying tills every night and installing CCTV equipment and a burglar alarm.
Other safety measures include identifying where it may be easier for criminals to force entry and plan regular checks of those areas, always keep service doors locked when not in use, regularly check CCTV and alarm systems are operational, keep a record of your key-holders’ contact details, keep as little cash as possible on the premises and make someone responsible for operating the CCTV and downloading images so they can be quickly accessed if required.
Anyone who recognises the man in the image is urged to call the appeal line on 01843 222289 quoting reference ZY/10108/17, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
