Two birthday cakes, family lunches and a card from the Queen helped Walter Kingsford celebrate his 100th birthday in style.
Mr Kingsford, of Middle Deal Road, Deal, had a family party before the big day with his nephew and niece Len and Jill Crowhurst at their home in Herne Bay.
Mrs Crowhurst said: "He is 100 years young! Our Uncle Clarrie and his wife Babs sat down to lunch at our house with 10 of his family.
"Some came from Lancashire to spend time with him on such a special occasion.
"On his actual 100th birthday another niece from Lancashire and two friends took Uncle Clarrie and Babs out for a meal."
Mr Kingsford was born in Deal and has spent most of his life in the town. He worked for many years in the Gas Board offices in Dover until his retirement at 60.
Mr Crowhurst said: "He was proud to receive a card from the Queen marking his 100th birthday.
"He still does his own shopping and, with Babs, still manage all the household tasks on their own. We are all very proud of him."
