Staff at Tesco’s store at Whitfield are celebrating its 25th anniversary this weekend with a range of activities which include putting their best foot forward to raise money for charity.
They will be staging fashion shows, a cabaret which features local entertainers, and organising tastings at the bakery and deli counters as part of the celebrations. There is even talk of an appearance by Elvis.
The store will have a French theme on Saturday with special continental displays. Members of staff will be raising money for Diabetes UK when they use two gym machines to walk the equivalent number of steps for climbing the Eiffel Tower and back down again.
