College has new name
12:43, 10 November 2010
The merged South and West Kent Colleges have a new name.
K College has been chosen by students, and has been agreed after extensive consultation across Kent, and expert advice from Rose Design, a top marketing and branding agency.
Students from each of the five town campuses, including Dover, overwhelmingly chose the name K College from a selection following a secret online ballot.
To launch K College, there will be events this Saturday, November 13, featuring former X Factor acts, as well as other student acts and performers at the campuses. Local people are being invited to call in between 10am and 4pm.
Last year’s X Factor finalist Lloyd Daniels and this year’s boy band The Reason will be performing at each town and will be joined by student dance acts and bands, as well as on-stage competitions.
Principal Bill Fearon is due to unveil the college’s new logo at Dover at 10am on Saturday.
There are 464 full-time and 353 part-time students at the Dover campus.
