Cyclists knock man to the ground

A man suffered injuries to his head and hands after being knocked to the ground by two cyclists who were believed to have been riding on a pavement in Dover.
It happened at Frith Road just after 11am on Tuesday, at a time when police are holding a campaign against cyclists who ride on the pavement, through precincts or the wrong way along one-way streets.
Alan Sencicle, who lives at Danes Court, was walking on the pavement in Frith Road when an altercation occurred with the cyclists. One of them is alleged to have knocked into him, and he fell to the ground. He was taken to hospital with cuts to his head, a black eye and grazes to his hand.
Police were called and a number of witnesses have been interviewed. They have been given descriptions of the offenders and their bikes.
The cyclists are believed to have made off the wrong way up Frith Road towards Connaught Park.
Anyone who saw the incident and has not yet spoken to the police is asked to call them on 101 quoting reference number 10-542.
Mr Sencicle said he would like to thank those who came to his assistance and looked after him until the emergency services arrived.
Police issued a warning last month that cyclists who flout the regulations risk being issued with a fixed penalty notice.
