Sainsburys in Deal is putting the fun back into fundraising for Red Nose Day tomorrow (Friday).

Staff at the West Street store are making manager Glenn Adams and deputy manager Mark Leppard complete forfeits to bring in the donations.

Mr Adams will have to sit on a toilet and tell jokes while Mr Leppard will have his head shaved in front of customers at the entrance of the store at 10am.

He will also have to sit in a bath and let both staff and shoppers tip beans and custard over him at 11am. It will cost £1 to have a go.

As well as laughing at their bosses, everyone in the Deal team will be dressed up.

Mr Adams said: “Our colleagues love getting involved with Red Nose Day fundraising.

“We have some brilliant activities planned this year and look forward to inviting customers to join in with the fun.”

Others in the district are doing their bit too.

Children at Hornbeam Primary School are taking part in an assault course dressed up as secret agents while pupils at Green Park Primary School in Dover are having a mad hair day.

There is also a clubbercise event at Dover Town Hall at 7pm, with games and sweets for children. Entry costs £5.

Don’t forget to pick up your Red Nose at Sainsburys. This year, there are nine to collect, all hidden in their own surprise bags. At least 60p from each £1 nose goes to help transform the lives of some of the poorest and most disadvantaged people here in the UK and across Africa.
