Deal Castle going on TV
00:00, 23 October 2008
Shots of Deal Castle are flashing across televisions screens nationwide in the run up to a block-buster autumn period drama, starting on BBC 1 on Sunday.
In May the English Heritage seafront property was transformed into a French fort for two days for part of the filming for Little Dorrit.
Castle views are now being featured in trailers for the new adaptation by Andrew Davies, who is bringing to life Dickens’ powerful story of love, honour, debt and hope in 1820s London.
The series features a star-studded cast who were filmed in Deal Castle, including Matthew MacFayden, Bill Paterson and former Dr Who companion Freema Agyeman.
Tom Courtenay is also in Little Dorrit, which can be seen at 8pm on Sunday and continues for 14 episodes.
