A funky hairdressing salon that doubles up as a 70s retro clothes and accessories boutique has opened its doors in Deal High Street.

What has been named Linea is the brain child of Amanda Goring, who has invested all her hard work in opening the salon.

Amanda, who comes from a property background, said: “I didn’t want it to be just a hairdressers. I wanted something totally different and unique that nobody else is doing in town.”

Linea is bright and welcoming, and with well known stylist Mike Hardman returning to hairdressing after a short break, it is attracting old and new faces who can leave with a superb new do as well as one-off accessories and a vintage outfit.

“People are now cottoning on to what we are doing and it seems to work well.

“I’ve had people walking past putting their thumbs up and a man in his 80s put his head round the door and said “fabulous!”"

With four hairdressing stations set up, Amanda is recruiting more stylists in the new year so more people can enjoy a stylish revival in experienced hands at Linea.

• Linea is situated at the bottom of South Street next to Oxfam and King’s Coffee Shop.
