A 32-year-old man from Deal has become the third person in 12 months to be issued with an Anti-Social Behaviour Order as part of Dover District's Three Strikes Scheme.
Folkestone Magistrates issued James Fraser Reid of Stockdale Gardens, Deal, with the ASBO on Friday after he was found guilty of common assault and being drunk and disorderly at Dover Priory Railway Station on March 19 this year.
The conditions attached to his ASBO, which is effective for two years, are that he should not act in a manner that causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to any person not of the same household as himself, not to enter Dover town centre between 7pm and 7am, not to be drunk in Dover town centre, and not to be drunk and disorderly in any public place within the district council area.
The application for an ASBO was made by Dover Community Safety Unit as part of the Three Strikes scheme, which was launched to cut alcohol-related crimes and anti-social behaviour.
The Three Strikes scheme is a partnership initiative by Kent Police involving Dover District Council, Dover Partnership Against Crime and local licensees.
Sgt Guy Thompson of Dover District Community Safety Unit said: "This ASBO sends a clear message that those who commit offences while under the influence of alcohol will face serious consequences. Mr Reid has now lost his right to come into Dover town centre in the evening."
