Deal Town are set to sign Mo Takaloo, one of the most prolific goalscorers in Kent senior football of recent seasons.
Deal chairman Stuart McCluskey said: "Mo is on holiday at the moment but he’s assured us that he will sign for Deal when he returns and I’m delighted because it will be a great to have him here next season."
The 28-year-old, pictured right, has twice won the Kent League Golden Boot award for leading scorer, first for Ramsgate and then for Maidstone United, whom he helped to follow Ramsgate into the Ryman Premier Division.
Takaloo returned to Ramsgate last season but struggled for form and, after being released, ended the campaign back in the Kent League with Hythe.
Mr McCluskey also expects to complete the signing of Ramsgate defender Jake Eastwood in the next week or so. Eastwood, 25, was a regular in the Rams’ first-team squad last season, having joined them from Margate at the start of the campaign.
Hares is also hoping to sign two other players from Hythe and Ramsgate in addition to Takaloo and Eastwood, but two of Deal’s squad from last season, Stuart Vahid and Scott Holden, could be leaving the Charles Ground for Ramsgate and Whitstable.
