Deal Town Hall has been cordoned off to the public today to undergo a refurbishment.
The Undercroft has been taped up and traffic cones placed around the length of the building to ensure no one can enter.
Rumours spread that the building had been damaged during recent severe wind and rain, but Cllr Wayne Elliott explained that this was not the case.
The building is closed so it can be washed down and prepared for re-painting.
Mr Elliott added: “It will be open to the public tomorrow but parts will be cordoned off where work will be taking place.”
