FAMILIAR faces, old and not so old, are due to walk on to the pitch at Deal Town’s Charles Ground tonight (Wednesday) to raise cash to rebuild the fire-devastated clubhouse.

Hundreds of supporters are expected to flock to the ground to watch key players from the club’s history take on the present first team.

"all of our efforts have gone into putting this match on." – deal town media spokesman phil moore

Club spokesman Phil Moore said: "Dave Dadd has worked tirelessly to get a great squad of 22 players assembled.

"All of our efforts have gone into putting this match on, but we have been collecting in Deal High Street and are very grateful to Deal’s generous public for their contributions."

Two veterans teams were picked, including Marc Seager and Steve Ward from the Deal team that won the FA Vase at Wembley in 2000.
