The ferry service between Dover and Dieppe has been scrapped.
LD Lines introduced the service in February, using its traditional ferry Cote d’Albatre. But the company said that it had not attracted sufficient traffic to make it commercially viable, and the service ended on Monday.
It was the first time that Dover had been linked with Dieppe.
The ferry, which took four hours to make the crossing, made one return trip every night. It will continue to make two round trips to Boulogne every day. LD Lines also operates a fast ferry, the seacat Norman Arrow, on the Boulogne route, which, with the traditional ferry, provdes six round trips a day.
