Richard Dimmock, whose 29 goals helped Thamesmead Town win the Kent League title last season, is one of two strikers who will be trying to impress manager Andy Hessenthaler when Whites begin pre-season training next Thursday.
Hessenthaler said: "Richard came for a couple of training sessions with us at the end of last season and we have invited him back for pre-season."
Thamesmead manager Keith McMahon added: "Richard’s always had the ability to play
a good standard of football and the only
thing he’s struggled with, to be fair, was his weight.
"But this year he’s lost lost three-and-a-half stones and he wants to have a crack at playing at a higher level of football.
"He’s good at linking up play and I’ve heard that Dover are looking for a big centre forward who can do that. If Dover decide to take a gamble on him, then good luck to him."
Hessenthaler, who is on holiday in Tenerife this week, said: "We will also be looking at another striker in pre-season. He’s got a good pedigree and he’s hungry to do well and so I’m hopeful the striking situation will be resolved soon."
He also confirmed that midfielder Alan Pouton will be returning from the north east to take part in pre-season training, saying: "We have offered Alan a new contract and, although he has
still got one or two issues to sort out, I am confident he will be playing for us again next season."
