Dover 4 Dorchester 1
19:35, 15 August 2009
Adam Birchall took his tally to three goals in the first two games to help Dover to a comfortable Blue Square South win over Dorchester on Saturday.
In front of more than 1,000 people at Crabble, the striker opened the scoring on 15 minutes when he ran clear and fired expertly across the keeper into the far corner.
But the visitors were level eight minutes before half-time when poor defending let in Ivan Forbes to score.
The match looked to be heading for a draw until Nicky Southall curled a fine free-kick into the corner from just outside the box after a handball.
The goal deflated Dorchester and Birchall bagged his second in the 89th minute after a knockdown by Shaun Welford before Welford added further gloss to the scoreline in stoppage time after a good move involving Birchall and James Rogers.
The Whites sit third in the table after their unbeaten start to the campaign.
